Meget spennende portrett av den legendariske forfatteren bak bøker som Post Office, Women, Notes Of A Dirty Old Man m.fl. Nakent og direkte som det selvbiografiske materialet han presenterer i sine egne bøker, men under det rå ytre, ofte tragiske, finnes også litt humor, usikkerhet og en human karakter.
En samling unike glimt som gir ny innsikt i forhold til den kontroversielle kunstneren.

«I was working at the ad agency, and boy, if you´re not corporate material, it´s a horrible place to be. It´s real high pressure. You´ve got to give your body and soul to your job, if you´re gonna keep your job. I was working 60 hour weeks, routinely, working 3 weekends out of the month. My family never saw me. I wound up getting chest pains at the age of 33. My wife drove me to the emergency room. They kept me there, on the coronary observation unit for a week. Around that time, I´d encountered `Post Office´. I saw that Bukowski was able to take that negative experience, and transform it into something that was worthwhile.
